Belle's Story

Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Belle. She is a 4 year old , black and tan Dachshund. She has a short hair coat. She weighs 27lbs. Belle was surrendered to Rescue as her previous family were gone 12 hours a day.

Belle is the love of her foster family's life. She is great with all dogs, children and people. She barks at cats. Belle is a bit shy at first with new people but warms up quickly. She is a cuddler and is not a yappy dog at all.

Oh how she loves to eat, typical.of her breed. She had lost 3 lbs before our Rescue took her but still should lose another 4lbs. Her food is measured out twice daily and she gets 1/3 cup mixed with canned twice daily. The great news is she is excellent on a leash and body harness so lots of walks wiil get the weight off fairly quickly.

Belle enJoys sleeping in bed with family member. She rides very well in the car. Belle has no destructive tendencies. She does not require a crate. She is housebroken as well as per pee pad trained. Due the fact that her previous family left her alone so long, she has seperation anxiety. For this reason, another resident socialized dog in the adopter's home will be required.

Belle has a lovely disposition and was socialized quite well. She is a very sweet and loving gal.
The ideal home for Belle is one with another small dog and with a family who are not gone long hours.

Belle is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4dx tested negative, dewormed and on Heartworm flea/tick prevention.

If you wish to apply for Belle, visit barksandmeows.ca for an online application.
