Belle's Story
Meet our sweet southern Belle! This 6-year-old, 65-pound girl is pure southern perfection. She is house trained and walks well on a leash. Belle doesn’t love the crate and can be a Houdini, but she has proven that she doesn’t need to be crated when left alone.

Belle is good with people and dogs; she is even good with cats! Belle hasn’t been around small kids, but she is such a kind, sweet girl, we imagine she would be ok with kids of all ages.

Belle’s favorite pastime is to play fetch but when she isn’t playing, she settles down easily and is chill in the house. Belle can be skittish in new situations but, once she settles in and learns to trust, she is an absolute gem.

Belle doesn’t jump on people. She has never chewed up anything except for dog toys, and she can be alone easily for about 6 hours a day in a room behind a baby gate. At night Belle sleeps on a dog bed in her foster’s bedroom and does very well.

When Belle first came into the rescue, she was not house trained, but she learned quickly and now never had an accident overnight or in the hours when her fosters are at work. Belle adapts very well to the house routine and likes to go for walks in the morning or outside to potty with her foster dog siblings.

Belle is terrified of fireworks but does okay with thunder. She startles easily to other loud noises, like street noise, but once she has been in the home for a while and gets used to the noises, she is much more comfortable.

Belle would do well in a home with another dog. She interacts with her foster’s 8-yr old Lab, and they play well together. She’s great with cats too. Belle is not high energy but still enjoys walks and chasing balls. Belle is very appreciative of love and attention. She’ll be a great dog for anyone who can give her that.

Belle will be available for adoption on, or after, January 24th, 2026

If you are interested in Belle and are an approved adopter, please contact your Adoption Coordinator to be added to Belle’s list.
