Belle Ann 7266's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet the best frosted face, Belle Ann 7266. Belle is the sweetest low key senior who was surrendered to a rural shelter due to her owner having medical issues. Thankfully, another shelter snagged her and took her in before it was too late. Belle is pretty much what you would expect from a 12.5 year old shepherd. She loves her bed, short walks and lots of napping. She is housebroken and quiet inside and will let you know if she needs to go out. No need to crate her. She lives with 4 other dogs and tolerates them but would love to be the only dog or to have a friend that isn’t super playful. She gets a lot more playful when she’s inside by herself. She will chase a ball as best as she can. Her hips are pretty bad but she gets around ok. She needs carpet or rugs and will stay on them over any slicker surfaces. Along with that, she needs minimal steps. She can get up them ok but going down is harder. She is cat friendly and loves people. She will bark at strangers but it’s always a hello bark. She would do fine with kids. She is overweight but getting her to lose any has been challenging. She was found to have bilateral tumors on her adrenal glands in October. She shows zero signs of them being cancerous but we think it might be affecting her metabolism. Since she has come to us, with meds, she has really blossomed and it has been great to watch. She’s just looking for a soft place to land with a nice comfy bed and lots of belly rubs. As long as she has supervision, Belle does not require a fence because she can’t move fast enough to escape.
Approved adopters can reach out to her foster at mcclellanka@gmail.com
