Meet Bella! At 3 years old, Bella’s world has been turned upside down. She has lost her home and has to adjust to a new life. Bella is a petite girl weighing only 42 pounds, is extremely sweet, and loves everyone she meets. She tolerates other dogs, but will do best as an only dog, she is not a dog park dog. She ignored the guinea pig in her last home, she has not been around cats. She loves children and is very gentle taking treats and is just learning what toys are but is very gentle. . She is a snuggler and wants nothing more than to be cuddled up with someone who loves her, and it is hard to not fall in love with her gentle demeanor. She is non destructive and doesn’t chew things, she is not a barker. Bella would love a fenced yard and a chance at a new life. She is housebroken, spayed, and crate trained. A&S Pit Bull and Am Staff Rescue's Adoption Policy

STEP 1 APPLICATION We require that you complete and return a signed copy of the A & S Adoption Application. On this form, we require both a personal and veterinarian reference. Upon completion, please fax to 847.639.3903 or email to: aandsrescue@aol.com STEP 2 INITIAL CALL TO FOSTER PARENT After reviewing your application, A & S will contact you to discuss the dogs available for adoption. Please be patient while we review your application - we want to make sure that the match is a perfect one! We will phone you immediately after the application review is finished. STEP 3 HOME VISIT Before meeting any of our available dogs, an A & S volunteer will visit your home to perform a "home check". The purpose of this visit is to verify any information you have listed on the application (i.e. fenced-in yard, crate, etc.) and to assure that the dog will be kept inside as a member of the family. STEP 4 MEETING THE AVAILABLE DOGS After your application has been approved, you will be invited to meet the AmStaffs and Pit Bulls of your choice. We encourage you to look at all of the available dogs in our program which fit your profile. Most of our dogs are in foster homes in Northern Illinois; A & S will contact the foster family to arrange a meeting. All members of the family (including other dogs) are required to attend this initial meeting to assure a good match! STEP 5 ADOPTION CONTRACT & FEES To finalize the adoption, we will need a signed contract. Our adoption fees range from $150 to $475.
