PLEASE COMPLETE OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION INSTEAD*

Meet Beautiful Bella, a gorgeous and sweet 5 year old mini Goldendoodle who is in a foster home in Denver/Lake Norman, North Carolina. Bella is a petite 22 pounds, loves everyone she meets, and is an amazing cuddler. She is a very good girl too and will make some lucky person a wonderful companion.

Please read ALL the information in Bella’s listing before applying to ensure you understand what she needs to be successful in her new home.

*Please complete our adoption application at http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application (copy/paste URL into your browser).

*If you completed an adoption application in the last 6 months & would like for your application to be considered for Bella, please email us at rescue@idogdoodlerescue.org.

*You must complete our adoption application fully. If you choose not to answer all the questions in the application, your application will not be considered. We will review your application & email you if you made our short list of applicants for her. Please respond within 24 hours if you receive an email from us about making our short list.

*You can check the status of her adoption at https://www.idogrescue.com/adopt or any of our social media pages. We will change her status to adopted when she is adopted.

*We base our adoption decisions on what is in the best interest of our dogs. Please note our adoption policies are in place for the safety and welfare of our dogs. We are all volunteers and have jobs, families, pets of our own to care for. We do the best that we can to get back to you in a timely manner. We believe in taking time to go through our thorough process to try to match the dog with the best fit for that dog.

*You must be approved to adopt her before we will schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs.

*AGE: 5.5 years old (born July 2020)

*WEIGHT: 22 pounds

*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical fence and a yard are recommended. She would love to go on daily walks. No shock collars or invisible fences will be considered, as we do not feel these would set her up for success.

*COAT TYPE: Wavy moderate-shedding coat. As long as she is brushed/combed 3-4 times per week, she stays mat free. She doesn’t mind being groomed at home and she’s little so it takes no time. She does shed some but after going to the groomer and being brushed regularly, she is shedding much less. She will need a regular professional groom every few months with an estimated cost of $100/groom.

*ENERGY LEVEL: medium. She loves a good walk and gets the zoomies occasionally but she is a calm dog in the house. She loves her people and wants to be close by.

*DOGS: Bella has met a couple of dogs while leashed and has done well. She does not pull when she sees other dogs and will redirect if told. She hasn’t had a lot of interaction with other dogs in her lifetime, but she seems fairly submissive and with proper introduction would probably do fine with most dogs.

*CATS: Bella has only met kittens in her foster home and seems to do well with them if perhaps a little too exuberant for their current size.

*KIDS: Bella loves everyone and would do well with kids. She is a little jumpy at first meeting though she’s small enough that 2 and up should be fine.

*CAR: she loves to ride in the car and settles right down.

*CRATE: her previous owner crated her as a puppy but indicated the crate makes her nervous so she has not been crated in her foster home. She will want to sleep with you and snuggles up next to you. Once she settles, she will sleep as long as you do and sometimes even longer! When her foster parents leave, she lays next to the back door on her bed and waits for them to return. She does not get into any trouble when left alone.

*HOUSE TRAINED: Yes; she is fully house trained!

*LEASH: Bella does great on a leash and loves to walk. She prances around a bit in the beginning but quickly settles. She does know the potty command and is quick to go.

*AT VET CLINIC: she did well though she does bark when she is nervous. She does not bark in the house.

*WITH GROOMING: she was very nervous and quite matted so she was there a while. She barked quite a bit at the groomer due to being nervous.

Bella is a mini Goldendoodle who is 5.5 years old and weighs 22 lbs. She was surrendered to IDOG by her owner who loved her dearly but whose work situation changed and Bella was spending too much time alone so she asked us to find her a home where Bella would have more time and attention.

Here is what Bella’s foster family has to say about her:

Bella is so sweet and is most happy when she is snuggled up next to you on the couch or bed. She loves to take walks and go in the car. She is a wonderful size for someone who wants to be able to pick their dog up and who likes moderate exercise. Bella would be happy to walk ten minutes or hike a two hour trail. She is a very versatile little dog. She loves having guests over and can’t wait to greet everyone she meets.

She is not mouthy at all. She likes toys but will destroy cloth toys. Keep fuzzy slippers away from her too as she thinks they are toys. She would like to be a counter surfer but luckily she’s too short. She sometimes gets excited and grabs the back of your leg like she would like to hump it but we have been addressing that and she knows now that is not acceptable. She is very food-motivated and smart and can be easily trained.

Bella - NC can be described as
*Loving
*Attentive
*Playful
*Sweet
*Friendly
*Affectionate
*Easy
*Snuggly
*Laid back

She enjoys:
**Being with people
**Walks
**Hiking
**Going for car rides
**Snuggling

Bella has exhibited no anxiety in the house and settles immediately when we leave. She is very happy to see us return and loves reunions. She is too short to counter surf but will take advantage of any food left at her level or an open kitchen trash can. She leaves the bathroom ones alone. She knows sit and loves to get a little bite of kibble when she comes in from a potty run.

Bella is spayed, microchipped and up to date on core vaccines. Her fecal and heartworm tests were negative and she is on heartworm/flea/tick prevention.

ADOPTION FEE: $495 adoption fee

ADOPTION FEE EXPLANATION:
Puppies and highly adoptable dogs have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting and expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses. Our expenses are very high these days due to increased vetting expenses, board and train costs, medical/health issues and surgery that is needed for some of our dogs. IDOG relies heavily on donations to bridge the gap between our adoption fees and our expenses. Unfortunately, donations are down across the board for all rescues.

TO APPLY FOR Bella-North Carolina, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application
