Bella's Story
Courtesy post: Future Family,

Hi, I’m Bella—a sweet, loving pittie girl hoping for my second chance at life.

My journey’s been a tough one. When my beloved person passed away, everything changed. I lost my home, my routine, and the sense of security I once knew. I’ve been in the care of a kind human, Lori, who stepped up to save me just in time from being sent to a shelter that might not have given me a chance.

Lori is doing everything she can for me, but life has been incredibly hard lately. She’s grieving the loss of her brother (my original human), helping with family challenges, and caring for several dogs and cats already. I’ve been living in her basement, crated most of the time—not because I’m bad, but because there simply isn’t space. She makes sure I get out at least four times a day and takes me on walks when she can, but this is no life for a dog like me. I know she’s exhausted and heartbroken, but she’s kept me safe, and I love her for it.

Soon, her son, daughter-in-law, and their baby are moving into that space, and I’ll have nowhere to go. So now, it’s urgent. I need a home.

I’m about 5 years old, crate-trained, and I know “sit,” “paw,” and “wait.” I’m very food-motivated and love to learn. I haven’t had much recent socialization, so I can be shy and nervous around new people—but once I know you, I warm up and become the sweet, playful, loving girl I truly am. I’ve lived with dogs before and might be able to again with a proper introduction, but I haven’t met Lori’s male dogs yet. I once stayed with a dog sitter and did great, but it’s been a while.

What I really need is someone patient, kind, and willing to let me bloom in a calm, loving environment. Someone who sees past my current situation and knows I’m not broken—I’m just waiting for the right person to help me feel safe again.

I’ve already lost so much. But I haven’t lost hope.
Please consider being my hero.

With love and tail wags,
Bella
Contact Lori at 443-367-1697 or lmartin2777@yahoo
