I’m wiggly and cuddly and so much fun. There is no place on earth I’d rather be than right by your side. I want to spend a little time each day learning and playing and hanging out. I hope maybe that sounds good to you too. All I’ve ever wanted in life is to be part of a family. My time is coming soon, I can feel it, and I’m ready!<br/><br/>I’m an adorable, 8-month-old, 33-pound Hound mix, with gentle, soulful eyes, beautiful brindle fur, a bright smile, and a charming, delightful personality. I was transferred to Wayside from a rural shelter in Mississippi that didn’t have space for me. I’ve never had a real home before, and it’s stressful and lonely to grow up in a shelter. I’m so excited, though, because I just have a feeling that Kansas City is where I need to be...this is where you are, this is where you’ll find me. I can’t wait!<br/><br/>I’ve already made so many fantastic friends here at Wayside! The staff and volunteers love my friendly style and the way I stick close by for pets and cuddles. I’m the perfect combination of silly and playful mixed with affectionate and chill. A typical Hound, I like to follow my nose and explore my surroundings. As a pup, I will need time, attention, and continued training. I am smart and eager to learn, so training me is fun. Plus, I love all the treats, so be sure to share some with me when I’m a good girl. I will thrive in a positive environment and a patient home with plenty of praise and encouragement to help me learn what you expect from me. Training sessions will help us bond and will be worth the extra effort while I’m still young, so that I grow into the wonderful adult dog that I know I will be. <br/><br/>I love taking walks around the Wayside campus, following my nose, and sometimes pulling on my leash when I need to investigate an interesting smell. A harness helps me stay focused and by your side. I’m an energetic and athletic dog, so I will need daily exercise to help me stay happy, healthy, and calm. I love everyone I meet, and I should get along well in a wide variety of homes. Mostly, I hope that you will make me an important and involved member of the family. I like to be in the middle of the action.<br/><br/>I’ve met and played with many other dogs here at Wayside. It takes me an extra minute or two to warm up, but then I’m playful and happy as I run around with my new friends. I can be selective with which dogs I like, though, so if you have another dog, you’ll need to bring them out to Wayside to meet me before we go home together to make sure that we all get along great. I’ll be happiest with other dogs who are polite and enjoy playing. Of course, I’ll be happy as your only dog as well.<br/><br/>Every night as I drift off to sleep, I dream that it’s my last night in a shelter. I imagine you walking through the door to meet me, driving me home, and welcoming me into your life. I can’t wait to share my life with you. I’ll be so proud to be your dog. <br/><br/>Love, Bella
