Becca's Story

The Dog Equivalent of a Deep Exhale

At 2 years old and 45 lbs, Becca is the kind of dog that changes the entire mood of a room just by existing in it.

Not in a loud way either. She’s not barreling through the house demanding attention or acting like she just drank six espresso shots and discovered parkour. Becca’s more subtle than that. She has this soft, grounding presence about her where suddenly everything feels calmer, quieter, easier. Like the house exhales once she walks into it.

She can be a little shy when she first meets new people, but it’s the sweetest kind of shy. The kind where she watches you carefully for a few minutes like a polite southern girl trying to decide if this is a “take your shoes off and stay awhile” kind of house. Then before you know it, she’s curled up beside you acting like y’all have shared a lease for three years.

And honestly? She is ridiculously easy to fall in love with.

Becca is calm, affectionate, easygoing, and deeply emotionally intelligent. She’s the type of dog that naturally settles into a home like she’s always belonged there. No chaos. No nonsense. No dramatic phases where she suddenly decides your couch cushions are enemies of the state. She’s content with a short walk, a comfy place to nap, and being near her people while life happens around her.

She absolutely adores other dogs too. Her foster says she truly blossoms with a canine companion nearby, and you can tell. She loves having another dog to nap with, follow around, play with, and quietly exist beside like two elderly women at a beauty salon exchanging neighborhood updates. She’s submissive, gentle, and incredibly social with other pups without being overbearing about it.

And somehow she just keeps getting better.

Cats? Totally fine. Kids? Loves them. Crate trained? Yep. Potty trained? Fully. Leash walking? Easy. Training? She’s incredibly eager to please and responds beautifully to gentle guidance because she genuinely wants to do well.

This is the kind of dog you picture laying at your feet while you work from home, riding quietly in the passenger seat on late-night snack runs, or following you from room to room simply because your company is her favorite place to be.

Some dogs bring excitement. Becca brings peace. And once she loves you, you get the feeling she’ll never stop.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://form.jotform.com/260401018308040

+++++++

Becca is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
