Bebe's Story
Hi there! My name is BeBe, and I’m a 2-year-old girl with a big heart, big personality, and a whole lot of potential!

When I first came to GTHS, the world felt overwhelming. I was scared and unsure, and I tried to keep myself safe the only way I knew how—by barking, growling, and making a big show at my kennel door. But with patient, predictable handling, I’ve learned something important: familiar people can be trusted. Now, when I see my friends, I trade those worries for wiggly greetings, soft eyes, and lots of affection.

I’ll be honest—I’m strong on leash and can be a bit of a project for inexperienced handlers. When I spot unfamiliar people or dogs at a distance, my worries can bubble up and turn into barking, pulling, or lunging. The good news? I’m a smart girl who responds really well to positive reinforcement, tasty treats, and having a little extra space. Calm, structured walks and clear guidance help me feel safe and successful.

Because unfamiliar dogs can be overstimulating for me, I haven’t joined off-leash playgroups yet. I’d do best as the only dog for now, unless my adopter has experience with slow, thoughtful introductions. My history with kids and cats is unknown, and because I’m strong, jumpy, and enthusiastic, I’d be happiest in a home with older teens only.

My dream human will offer me:
Consistent routines and structure
Positive-reinforcement training
Confident, steady leash handling
A calmer, lower-traffic home
Patience and slow, intentional introductions

With kindness and stability, I know I can keep growing into a more confident companion. Once I trust you, I’m sweet, affectionate, wiggly, and eager to connect. I may come with some challenges—like stranger danger, fearfulness, and reactivity—but I also come with so much love to give.

My adoption fee is $400 and includes my spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, dewormer and a microchip. If you want to learn more about me, please come visit the GTHS and speak with one of the amazing Adoption Counsellors! The GTHS is open for adoptions from 12pm-4:00pm, every single day of the week and they would be thrilled to introduce you to me! I can't wait to meet you and am looking forward to starting my new life with my new family!

I’m BeBe, and I’m ready for someone who sees my potential, believes in me, and wants to help me shine
