Beautiful CELINA's Story

CELINA - 3 years old as of April 2025, is spayed, vaccines are up to date and microchipped. She is currently in foster home in Cambridge.

She is a very sweet and playful girl, and just loves to get attention from her humans or play with her cat friends. She absolutely loves the snow and gets the zoomies when she is excited. This girl cannot get enough cuddling and she will certainly steal your heart when you meet her.

Beautiful CELINA is one of SWEETHEART MAY's puppies. Their story is on our Facebook Page, and they have their own Album.

Her Mom SWEETHEART MAY was shot in the chest and shoulder and hit by a truck when she was breastfeeding her 1 week old babies. SWEETHEART MAY never left her puppies and tried to care for them regardless of the pain she was in. Without RDL-C's quick intervention and medical help, they would have all died. CELINA is alive today because of the strength of her mother and RDL-C's help.

CELINA was adopted by a family in the Montreal area but due to health issues, her adopter had to rehome her. RDL-C arranged transport to Ontario and CELINA has been staying at a foster's in Cambridge area since early 2025.

Her foster has noted the following: CELINA is initially fearful of strangers and can growl to show her discomfort. However, she is not aggressive. Rather she tries to run away. When introduced in a calm and friendly manner she will warm up. She does bark to alert when someone is at the door or if she hears strange noises. She needs a little time to adjust to a new environment, but then who doesn't?

She barks to communicate. She is only reactive to other dogs when on leash. She is curious about other dogs but is also insecure which comes off as growling/barking and pulling. When meeting a new dog off leash, she is submissive, but when introduced properly she is just AMAZING! Her foster is actively working on her leash manners and doing a fantastic job!

Note that CELINA is not overly reactive toward squirrels/rabbits on walks. CELINA doesn't know what to do with toys and her foster is slowly introducing games into CELINA's exercise routine.

This adorable girl will make someone very happy. She is so affectionate and will follow her adopter on hikes/walks which she loves. She will need an experienced adopter who will continue to work with CELINA to help her overcome her nervousness around other dogs. It is best she does not live in an apartment/condo as she has a sharp, loud bark.

She needs exercise and would benefit from a fenced backyard. CELINA is crate trained and prefers to eat in her crate where she feels safe. It is highly recommended that her adopter gets a large to extra-large crate for her.

CHILDREN - due to her being a nervous dog, best to be in a home with no children as they can startle her. However, she will adore getting pets and belly rubs from gentle and well behaved children visiting.

Thanks to her foster, CELINA comes with a martingale collar and a Ruffwear harness which are important as initially (when she doesn't know the person handling her) she will be a flight risk.

She will also come with some of her current food, her Heartworm medication (April to November) and her bed.

CALL: Cynthia 416-587-8804
EMAIL US: RescueDogsLebanonCanada@gmail.com
We will send you an application and answer all your questions!
