He’s actually quite petite.

Beau never lived in a home before coming to Dogwood but he’s learning fast, and after playtime he settles beautifully on a cushy bed with a chewy.

Beau was born after his pregnant mama was rescued from a large scale animal cruelty case. He was born in a holding facility kennel where hundreds of dogs remain, waiting for court release or adopters, and he was institutionalized since his birth on November 1st 2024.

He's a little guy of around 40 pounds who had previously never been allowed toys, bedding or to play or interact with other dogs per facility rules, but he LOVES toys and his soft bed now. Beau is still adjusting to life outside of a kennel and alternates between, whoa, this is scary, and WooHoo what fun! When he sees other dogs he just wants to play and we’re working on developing his manners and social skills with help from the wonderful aunties.

Beau is affectionate, sleeps quietly crated all night and is good in the car. He still needs a great deal of socialization and confidence building in new situations but he’s making good progress. He will need a committed adopter who will continue our good work in turning his sad history into a beautiful life.

To apply visit the website link in our profile.

Making a difference one animal at a time.
