Bear's Story

Adopt Bear!

At 5 years old and 82 pounds, Bear is a big-hearted German Shepherd mix ready to bring playfulness, loyalty, and plenty of cheer into your home. He’s affectionate with his people, and will happily keep you warm with lots of cuddles.

Bear forms deep bonds with his humans and has a natural instinct to look out for them. With strangers, he can be reserved at first, preferring slow introductions and a calm environment. But once you’re “his,” he offers the kind of steadfast companionship that makes everyday life feel a little safer. Because Bear has the instinct to guard his person, a trait commonly found in German Shepherds, he needs a home with a firm pack leader(s). His ideal match would be a single adult with other dogs looking for a loyal protector. We recommend he go to someone without children but teens would be fine.

He enjoys romping with other dogs and shares his toys. He’s clever, knows a few tricks, and is very obedient- especially with a confident leader who understands his loyalty-driven nature and can guide him kindly. And did we mention cats? He’s FABULOUS with them! You can often find Bear curled up with his foster’s cat napping the afternoon away. 🐈

If you’re looking for a devoted companion to snuggle by the fire, join you on peaceful walks, and bring steadiness, love, and joy into your home, Bear is your guy.

📍 Location: San Diego
Adopt this handsome hunk at: bubblesdogrescue.org/adopt
