Bear (Custer, South Dakota)'s Story

This is the sad story of Sam and Bear located in Custer, SD. These littermates will be four years old August 15. Very sweet dogs that were owned by someone who never really got an opportunity to enjoy them. The wife passed away two years ago from cancer and her husband passed away on July 5. Before his death, he gave the dogs to a friend/neighbor to find them a home.

Unfortunately, this friend has a hobby farm with cats and many rabbits. Not a suitable place for two hunting dogs. They have taken the dogs to the vet for the first time they're both being neutered and will be ready to go on to new homes. They get along well together, occasionally grumble at each other, which is easily redirected. They do not need to stay together. They have gotten much better on a leash. They need a no cat home.
