Bear's Story
Meet Bear!
Bear was found tied up to a fence as a stray, and now this sweet, wiggly guy is ready to find a family who will never leave him behind. He's a social boy who readily approaches new people and happily leans into affection. He's also very enthusiastic when treats are involved, so be prepared for plenty of four-pawed greetings from this big-hearted Bear!

My Ideal Home
Bear would love an active family who can give him plenty of exercise, enrichment, and positive training. He's still learning that keeping all four paws on the floor is the best way to ask for attention, so he'll benefit from consistent practice with basic manners and impulse control. With a little guidance, Bear is sure to become a real cuddle bear!

Good with Other Pets?
Bear was comfortable around other dogs during his assessment, ignoring them while walking with a loose, relaxed body. His history with other animals is unknown, so introductions should still be gradual and supervised as he settles into his new home.

Good with Kids?
Bear would do best in a home without young children under 5. He's very enthusiastic and persistently jumps up when treats are involved, so he'll do best with people who can help him practice calmer ways to say hello.

Things to Know
Bear has mild leash pulling and plenty of enthusiasm, but he follows along with a loose body and happily leans into gentle and exuberant handling. He's very food motivated, making treats a great tool for force-free, reward-based training focused on skills like leave it, sit, stay, and down. This Bear is ready to leave his rough start behind and hibernate in a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and spoiled!

My foster writes: Bear might as well be named Teddy Bear- he loves to cuddle and be in the middle of the action. He is a high energy pup that would enjoy a space to run and explore!
Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 50lbs Age: 5yrs 1mths 0wks
