Bear's Story
Bear was transferred to SARA from a Texas shelter in May of 2022 after Animal Control picked him up. He had a shattered jaw that was likely caused by a baseball bat. We were able to get Bear the surgery he needed to repair the jaw and he is now living pain free at the sanctuary.

Currently, he shares a pen with 3 other dogs and does quite well with them. He enjoys the attention from staff and likes to play fetch. Bear was diagnosed with some mild hip dysplasia which is not slowing him down right now.

However, as he ages this will need to be monitored as he may need to be placed on pain medication. He walks well on the leash and can be a bit shy of strangers. Once he gets to know you he is a big baby and just wants to play!

If you are interested in a meet and greet or adoption, please contact maria@sarasanctuary.org for more information. Adoption fee is $200, and we currently offer two for one adoptions.
