Bear's Story

Bear is officially taking applications for adoption. He had a blast playing dress up in his foster home and utilized his sutures well for his Frankenstein costume!

Bear is the absolute sweetest, silliest puppy around. We are unsure of his breeds but he will be a large breed boy based on his size now. He’s approximately 5 months old and has such a happy attitude even after all he’s been through.

He came to us from a kill shelter last month with a very painful, abnormal eye. Since he was non visual in the painful eye anyways we elected to have it removed at the advice of a veterinarian. Since having the bad eye removed he is so much happier and more comfortable! He gets his sutures out soon and can’t wait to be an energetic puppy again.

His remaining eye he can see normally out of but does have a condition on his lower eyelid called entropion. This condition means his eyelid rolls into his eye causing discomfort and ulcers. We had his eyelid “tacked” more open by placing temporary sutures in it so his ulcers can heal. This condition may improve as he grows but he likely will need the eyelid surgically repaired when he’s over 6 months old.

Bear will need an adopter that understands he may need a little more surgery TLC in the future but know that he is well worth it! Please message us or apply on figzdogrescue.org. We are located in Otis, Oregon.I
