Beans's Story

Name: Beans

Gender: Male

Current Age: 5 years

Current Weight: 60 lbs

Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs)

Breed: Great Pyrenees/Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle

Energy Level: Medium

Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog

Cat Friendly: Selective

Kids: Yes to kids 12 years old or older

Apartment Friendly: Yes

Fence Requirements: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise

Crate Trained: He will go in the crate, but not his favorite. He does not need to be crated.

Potty Trained: Yes

Ideal Home / Adopter:Beans likes to be around people and his doggie friends...going for walks, playing in the yard, or snuggling on the couch. He attends Camp Bow Wow twice a week now and loves it. If you have another dog in the home that needs a playmate, Beans would love that too.

Likes: Beans loves food—he eats pretty much everything. He loves playing with other dogs, going for walks, or playing tug. When he's on the couch, he loves to lay his head on your lap and get belly rubs. He also loves going for car rides and sticking his head out the window.

Dislikes: Beans is not a fan of the crate, he will go in it, but has not needed to be in the crate

Beans is a very polite houseguest - sometimes you'll forget he's there because he is so quiet and chill. He is very low key, mostly just lounges on the couch all day until it's time for his walks (he LOVES them!) or if he deems it's time to play with his toys. He absolutely LOVES to be petted and begs for it. He will grab your hand with his paw and pull it to him or he'll force his head under your hand because he wants to be petted so badly. Belly rubs are his favorite and he'll roll right over so you can give him a pet. He's just a big happy, well-behaved boy with lots of love to give.

He is a complete goofball and would love to be assigned the role of “family entertainer” for his future adopters. For example, Beans loves dinner time—he barks and jumps around until you place his dish on the floor. He also loves to sit between whoever is on the couch. He wants to be the main squeeze. He is eager to please and would love to be the newest addition to your family!

Bean's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.
