Bean - Foster or Foster to Adopt Urgent's Story
Bean Deserves Better…

Location: Long Island, NY

Apply at: www.rthrs.com

Our sweet Bean is back in boarding — and why? Because his adopters didn’t listen.

So often people don’t realize that when we take the time to explain how to set up a rescue dog for success, those aren’t just empty words. We do it because we know these dogs — their needs, their triggers, their best chances at thriving. But even with the guidance of our volunteers and trainer, his adopters did what they wanted… and just like that, it was over.

When our volunteer went to pick him up, he was overjoyed to see him — tail wagging, heart full. But as they approached the boarding facility, he cried and cried, not understanding what he did wrong. That sound broke us.

Bean is an incredible boy — about 3 years old, 50 lbs, and a Lab mix with endless love, energy, and sloppy kisses to give. He does have some separation anxiety when someone leaves the home, but our wonderful trainer will continue to work with his next family to help guide them through this.

He’s good with other dogs and cats, though a younger dog who can keep up with his play style would be best. We also are saying no young children as due to his energy levels we do not want a little one to get hurt. Whoever welcomes Bean into their heart and home will need patience, understanding, and time to let him decompress — over 6 weeks in boarding is a long time for any dog.

If you’re ready to give Bean the chance he’s been waiting for — a true forever — please reach out. Let’s not fail him again.
