He enjoys playtime, affection, and simply being near his people. He has a gentle and affectionate nature and is easy to love.<br/><br/>He is also a thoughtful and sensitive dog who benefits from a calm and predictable environment. Once he feels safe and understood, he relaxes well and shows his affectionate and playful side.<br/><br/>⸻<br/><br/>Things to Know<br/><br/>• Bean has a sleep startle response. He may growl and could react if touched suddenly while resting or lightly asleep. He is currently doing well with gentle desensitization training.<br/><br/>• Because of this, Bean would do best in a home where he can rest undisturbed and where his space is respected.<br/><br/>• He is not a good match for a home with cats. He has shown some guarding and stalking behaviour toward cats in a home setting.<br/><br/>• He prefers calm interactions and may not be comfortable with busy or unpredictable environments.<br/><br/>• He does not enjoy being physically guided from behind (such as pushing or pulling his back end) and communicates this clearly.<br/><br/>• He may react if another dog approaches him too directly while he is on leash.<br/><br/>⸻<br/><br/>Ideal Home<br/><br/>Bean would thrive in:<br/><br/>• A quiet home with a single person or a couple<br/><br/>• No cats or other small animals<br/><br/>• A low traffic household, especially during his rest times<br/><br/>• A family willing to continue positive reinforcement training and respect his boundaries<br/><br/>• A home that can provide him with a safe resting space such as a crate or quiet area<br/><br/>⸻<br/><br/>The Good Stuff<br/><br/>Bean is not an aggressive dog.
