Bea's Story
Meet Bea, aka Bea Arthur! This local tripod and professional blanket architect is officially accepting applications for her furever home.

Bea is a blind, feisty pup who is searching for a residence with a serious surplus of cozy blankets so she can construct what is formally known as the Bea Arthur Fort for Wayward Chis ~ a heavily fortified blanket structure from which she will growl warnings, issue boundaries, and rule her tiny kingdom with absolute authority. Once burrowed beneath her favorite blanket, Bea is known to emit a low, ominous growl to remind everyone that peace is fragile and she is not to be trifled with.

Whether stationed in an open crate for safety or a carefully selected dog bed, Bea expects respect. Other dogs loitering about the grounds should watch their step. Bea also conducts a nightly midnight stroll of the premises, during which she may ~ or may not ~ accept snuggles. It’s a roll of the dice.

Bea is a true survivor. When she arrived, her shoulder was dislocated beyond repair, and required amputation for a life without chronic pain. True to form, she was up and hopping the very next day. She is small, tough, opinionated, and absolutely unforgettable.

Bea is excellent with potty pads, enjoys a brief but very important yard sniff, and requires 100% blanket coverage while resting. While wrapped like a burrito, she expects to be left entirely alone. This is non-negotiable. Violators will be corrected verbally.

Bea also prefers to be the only dog so she can soak up all the love and run the household without interference. In return, she promises endless entertainment, big personality, and Bea Arthur–level comedic timing.

We adore this little squirrel and know her forever home is right around the corner.

Bea is approximately 9 years old and 4 lbs.

Fostered in Rockville, MD
Please apply at MirisHaven.org
