Baxter's Story

This gentle, loving goofy boy has decided that the hustle and bustle of city life is not his cup of tea. Baxter has spent 5 years trying to navigate his noisy and often unpredictable environment, and has made it clear he much prefers woods and streams to cars and skateboards. His Mom and Dad have listened, and selflessly know that he would be much happier in a country setting, so they have decided to fulfill his dream.

5 year old handsome and very well trained Baxter loves everyone he meets. He is your typical Lab who loves food, treats and belly rubs! Splashing in streams is right up his alley and taking quiet walks and having lots of snuggle time is on the top of his bucket list. Baxter also loves kids and currently lives with an 18 month old who loves to go nose to nose with him, and Baxter is fine with sharing whatever he may be eating.

Baxter is a bit dog selective, partly due to some bad experiences with some dogs, so he prefers calmer, more laid back dogs – and he prefers the ladies! He does well off leash with other dogs, but is more on alert when on leash. So his ideal home would have a fenced yard where he can run and play and not have to pass lots of dogs daily.

He is crate trained, but reliable with free roam, and is a total cuddle bug. He walks nicely on a gentle leader and has quite a repertoire of commands he’ll happily demonstrate. He is very food motivated, so very trainable and wants to be with his people more than anything. He’d love cuddling in bed with you if you are up for it!

This total love bug is hoping to find a quiet home in the “country” where he can chill and soak up all of the belly rubs available! Could that be you?

PLEASE NOTE: While this Lab may not be available for adoption by the time you complete the adoption process, other great Labs are always finding their way into our Rescue.

For more information on this Lab, please contact INFO@BROOKLINELABRESCUE.ORG.

If you are interested in adopting this Lab or any other Lab from our Rescue, please visit our Web site, www.brooklinelabrescue.org, for more information on our adoption process.
