Baxter's Story

Meet Baxter!
Baxter is a 20-pound cutie with a gentle soul and the sweetest personality. He’s dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and people-friendly — truly the whole package. At first, he may come across as shy, calm, and a little sleepy, but once he feels safe, his inner puppy comes out! He blossoms into a playful, affectionate little guy who loves to be part of the action.

Baxter is fully potty trained. In three weeks, he’s only had a few pee accidents — all due to missed signals — because he’s great at letting you know when he needs to go out. He’ll whine, sniff around, or stand by the door to ask politely. At night, he sleeps soundly in his crate on his favorite soft blanket and will wake you with a little whine or bark if he needs a potty break.

This boy is incredibly food-motivated, which has made training a breeze. Baxter already knows place, sit, down, shake, high five, and touch, and he's working hard on spin/turn and stay. He eats from slow feeders or puzzle toys because he gets very excited about mealtime!

On leash, Baxter does well when walking with familiar dogs or in known areas. New places can feel overwhelming at first, so continued socialization and confidence building will be important for him as he grows.

If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, cuddly companion who just wants to learn, love, and feel safe, Baxter might be your perfect match. 💛🐾
