Batman's Story

ID 59788369

Meet Batman! This handsome fella of about 4 yrs of age, came to the shelter unsure, on the shy reserved side and needed some time to engage with volunteers to open up, and learn that he was in a safe space. He has come out of his shell, and is now looking for the perfect home to take him in, continue to make him feel safe, and guide him into being the best dog he can be. We did find out that he had a home before, and came in with a female dog who has since been adopted. It appears they had a strong bond and he struggled more at the shelter than she did. He often does not show well in his kennel, so it’s best to meet him out and about.

Batman knows how to sit, but if he is excited to be out, it takes him a minute or two to show you this skill. He does like a good yummy treat though and has shown his snuggly side, and will give kisses once he is happy, and, loves a good ole fashioned butt scratch. He has a happy tail wag and a bounce in his step. There is still some puppy left in this bigger boy and he would love to learn more with training.

Batman passed his initial dog/dog assessment at the shelter but will need a meet greet with any resident dog in a home. Also, structure and allowing time for decompression, management is needed when a new dog comes into a home. This allows for success of both dogs. He also might prefer the canine company of a female over a male.

Come on down and meet Batman . He is ready for a dog bed to call his own once again.
