Basil's Story

Basil is a very sweet, affectionate and playful gal. She came into our care when her family was seeing they were not meeting her needs. She enjoys a good lap to sit in, a yard to play in and receiving human attention. In her prior home, she was good with respectful children and other dogs. She does need a household that can keep her beagle genetics from getting her into trouble. She has a nose that will find an open trash can and will chew items like pens and stuffed animals. She is still getting settled into our care here, so we have not yet put her with another dog here. To keep her healthy, the veterinarian does recommend she received a doggy dental, scheduled to be done 12/31. <br/>A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Basil's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about her, and to determine if you should meet Basil.
