BART's Story
Meet an adorable 4.5 yr old mini goldendoodle.
Sadly, Bart spent his first few years crated as a puppy mill stud with very limited contact with humans. But all that has changed and Bart's on his way to happily discovering the world!
This sweet boy will be a wonderful addition to a special home. He LOVES to be near his humans and to be petted and even tho he is quite timid, he will push forward for More More More. Aww, so heartwarming.
He is VERY gentle and delicately takes treats from your hand when offered.
Bart is newly housebroken, but is accepting of a doggie diaper for your transition if you choose until his neutering happens on Dec 3rd.
He walks enthusiastically on a leash. At this new stage, he will pull a bit, but at 20lbs is very controllable and seeing his joy of being out in the world more than makes up for the quick pace!

Being kept solely as breeding stock for the first part of his life does mean Bart will need to go to a home with a mentor dog. The ideal companion for him will be a medium energy dog that enjoys playing but doesn't endlessly bark at him or engage in wrestling matches and rousing games of tug. Once he warms up, he loves to romp with another dog or even toss his stuffy and do zoomies on his own. So cute!
Bart is still learning how to be a dog, and live indoors in a loving home. He’s still quite skittish and startles at loud noises or quick movements towards or behind him, but he remains curious and is brave enough to return and check out that situation after a fright. Another dog will help him continue to build this confidence.

He'll be fine in a single or multi-person household with kids. He has been exposed to a one year old without incident but he was nervous, so children over 8 would be best. The more people that love him, the faster he’ll learn to relax.
An apartment setting would be fine as long as the doors open to a confined fenced area or a hallway. Adopters with a house will need a fenced in yard. As with any Doodle breed, regular trips to the groomer will be needed.

To be the lucky person who gets Bart into their forever home, contact The Rescue Express therescueexpress.org and apply to adopt him.
