Barry's Story

Meet Barry!

The first and most important thing to know about Barry is that he just wants to be loved. He’s a very spunky boy who sometimes has more energy than he knows what to do with, so he’ll do best with experienced pet owners who can help guide him and support him as he continues learning to be the best boy he can be.

Barry is very food-motivated and eager to learn, making him easy to train and quick to pick up new tricks. He would make a fantastic adventure companion for trips, long walks, hikes, or even agility work. He gets excited in the car on the way to an adventure, but with an enrichment toy or someone sitting with him and giving him pets, he settles in nicely and rides well. He absolutely loves going on field trips and exploring new places.

At heart, Barry just wants affection — and lots of it! Sometimes he can be a little demanding for attention, so giving him time to decompress helps him relax and reset. With a bit of patience and structure, you can see his behavior improve right before your eyes. He’s all about belly rubs, chin scratches, nylabones, and stuffy toys, and he does a great job entertaining himself.

Barry is a loving, good boy who is sometimes misunderstood. He’s a volunteer favorite who steals hearts everywhere he goes, and we would love nothing more than to see him finally settle into a home of his own.

*Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy

*Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt
