Baro's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Baro is a 25lb red-ticked beagle. He is appox 2 years old. He's very timid when meeting new people. Does not like people looking him in the eyes, but will come up behind you to sniff you out. He is slow learning to trust people along with the loud noises and quick movements of a household. He can climb steps to get on the bed, use the doggie door, is house trained and will finally take treats from our hand. He likes to be walked. He likes to be fed his bowl in his a regular. He is afraid and will not go in a crate. He is the most nocturnal dog we've met. After dinner and into the night, he loves to pull blankets, towels, toys, dog beds, clothes and pillows out the doggie door. He is fine when left alone in the house with the doggie door as long as anything you want to keep in the house is out of his reach (glasses, remotes, shoes, blankets, pillows etc.). Once he trusts you, he wants you to never stop petting him. If you do, he will nudge your hand to tell you to continue petting. He loves to snuggle and will fall asleep hugging your hand or arm if you pet him until he goes to sleep.

Baro must to go to a family that is patient (using the 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months guide) and with at least 1 or more dogs that are young with a lot of energy that are very playful. This is where he will come out of his shell and helps reduce his anxiety. He definitely wants to be a member of a pack. He is afraid of getting in a car but once in, loves car rides. He is fine with teenagers and will ignore a cat. He is not suited for a home with small children. He is afraid of canes, walkers and wheelchairs. He is not recommended for senior citizens.

If you are looking for a active family dog and are very patient, that will give you loyalty for the rest of his life then Baro is for you.
