One of our favorite dogs, Barley, an Akita Shepherd Mix is on the euthanization list for this Wednesday, 5/21/25. He is a shelter favorite (and my personal favorite). <br/><br/>Beautiful, super calm, easy to handle, not leash reactive, a very sweet boy - one of best behaved dogs in the shelter but I think he has been overlooked because of his reserved Akita traits. <br/><br/><br/>Here is some more info about him:<br/>Barley #A880184, a brindle and white, 4-year old Akita Shepard Mix<br/><br/>This calm and gentle boy may seem aloof and stoic at first, but give him a bit to warm up and you’ll see his playful side emerge — especially if a game of fetch is involved! <br/><br/>Barley has great leash manners, and enjoys affection and booty scratches.
