Once shy and unsure of the world, he’s now learning what it means to be a beloved house dog — and he’s embracing it more every day.<br/><br/>He loves to quietly chew on a toy (very gently, like the polite gentleman he is) and is happiest lounging nearby his people. Barley is a true velcro dog who wants to be close to his person, though he’s still learning that new people aren’t scary. With patience and kindness, his confidence continues to grow beautifully.<br/><br/>He does especially well with a canine friend and is currently living happily with a larger dog. Having a buddy gives him comfort — but if you’re ready to be his very best friend, he’d be okay with that too. He has met multiple dogs and is a good boy every single time.<br/><br/>Barley can still be a little shy about the leash at first, but once it’s on, he’s ready to head out. He’s not overly active and is perfectly content lazing around, sitting on the couch, and soaking up a calm environment. He does great in a crate overnight and overall has wonderful house manners.<br/><br/>Barley is simply a very good boy who has blossomed into a sweet, loyal companion. Any family willing to offer him love and reassurance will gain the most devoted little shadow in return. 🐾<br/><br/>He is looking for a foster to adopt home, as he cannot complete his vetting until the court case against his situation finishes.
