Barley's Story

This soft-eyed, absolutely gorgeous 11-month-old boy is on the smaller side at around 30 lbs, with the prettiest, gentlest face you’ve ever seen.

Barley has come such a long way since being rescued from a hoarding situation with over 60 animals. Once shy and unsure of the world, he’s now learning what it means to be a loved house dog—and he’s embracing it more every day.

He’s a quiet, gentle soul who loves to softly chew on a toy (like the polite gentleman he is) and lounge near his people. Whether he’s curled up in his “spot” on the couch or tucked under his foster mom’s feet while she works, Barley is happiest just being close. He’s a true velcro dog who forms deep bonds with his person.

Barley has wonderful house manners—he listens well, moves when asked, goes into his crate on cue, and settles in easily. He does great overnight in his crate and is doing amazing with potty training. He’s a quick learner who truly wants to please.

He enjoys being outside, where he’ll happily play with toys—though he doesn’t mind one bit when the other dog in his foster home steals them. He simply moves on to the next one, easygoing as ever. Barley does especially well with other dogs and gains confidence from having a canine companion.

He’s met multiple dogs and has been a good boy every time. With new people, he can still be a little shy at first, but with patience and kindness, his confidence continues to blossom beautifully. He can also be a bit unsure about the leash initially, but once it’s on, he’s ready to go.

Barley is also a bit of a lover—he gives the sweetest kisses and may even try to nibble your ears if you let him.

He’s not overly active and would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can relax, feel safe, and stay close to his person.

Barley is simply a very good boy who has blossomed into a sweet, loyal companion. Any family willing to offer him love and reassurance will gain the most devoted little shadow in return. 🐾

He is microchipped, heartworm tested, and current on vaccines.

Adoption App:
https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/40532/generic
