Barkley's Story

Meet Barkley!
Barkley is a young, 6 month old puppy. Barkley and his siblings were rescued from Detroit and brought to the Humane Society of Macomb for a chance at a better life.
Barkley is learning to be brave. This world is kinda scary for him right now but soon enough he will crawl into your arms.

If you are on the hunt for a puppy and for a loyal companion, look no further. Please fill out the pre-adoption form online or call the Humane Society of Macomb to schedule a meet and greet.

We recommend puppy classes for all of our puppies. Puppy classes a great way for your pup to meet other dogs, build confidence, and learn proper manners. Always keep training positive, rewarding, and fun. We focus on rewarding good behavior and building trust. No shock collars, prong collars, or choke chains needed.
The more positive experiences a puppy has now, the more likely they will grow into a happy, well adjusted adult dog.

If your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. Be prepared to adopt and to bring a home a new family member. We cannot place puppies/dogs on hold to come pick up for another day.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.
