Barkley's Story

Hi, I’m Barkley! I was adopted six years ago, but I was having trouble adjusting to changes at home, and I’m back. I am very friendly and love being with people, giving and receiving lots of attention. Unless it is nap time of course. I love to go on walks and walk very well on a leash. Please don’t expect to set any speed records though, as I love to sniff everything. I know most of the basic commands and listen well. I am doing okay with the resident cat in my foster home and working at getting better. I do think that I will be at my happiest in a quieter house, with no other pets, and children who are knowledgeable about dogs. Manitoba Great Pyrenees Rescue's Adoption Policy

The adoption process starts with an application form to find out more information about your family to ensure the best fit for the dog. Applications can be found at http://mgpr.weebly.com/ Second step is to have reference checks and vet checks. We want to ensure all dogs go to responsible loving homes. Thirdly, is the meet and greet with the dog you are interested in adopting. We encourage all members of your family to be in attendance at this visit as the dog will be an integral part of all of their lives. The final step of the adoption process is a home visit from one of our team members. The home visit allows us to see the environment in which the dog will be living as well as to offer any tips and advice to making your home dog friendly. Then your new family member will come home to shower your family with unconditional love.
