Barbra Ann's Story
A059834 Barbra Ann; spayed female German Shepherd mix; est.8 months; 38.4 lbs
Contact : Calaveras County Animal Services (209)754-6509
or animal@calaverascounty.gov

Meet Barbra Ann, a sweet GS mix, 8 months old and looking for a family to call her own.

She is very human oriented. We are tickled at how Barbra Ann gazes directly into our eyes. We may or may not have a cookie in our hand at the moment, but we're certain it's not *just* that. And who can resist those eyebrows?! She is genuinely affectionate with everyone, leaning in happily for cuddles, and will crawl in your lap if you let her. She'll likely bond deeply with a forever family.

With her soft fur and compact size (she likely has a bit more growing to do, but probably won't be huge), Barbra Ann is lovely indeed for snuggle sessions. She sits sweetly and takes treats gently. She's new to the niceties of leash walking, but is attentive to her handler and is learning fast.

At first, Barbara Ann was afraid of other dogs. Now she is learning to feel safer and make friends. She met Poppy and Whisper was very good both of them. We continue to introduce her to new four-legged buddies, and would guess she'll carry on making swift progress in that regard.

Barbra Ann is tidy in her inner kennel; although we can't make any promises, our guess is that she'll do fine with consistent housetraining.

Barbra Ann will need to be spayed before she can go home with you.

We do not have info on her attitude toward cats at this time. A meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home.
