Banks's Story

Meet Banks! Banks was found wandering the countryside along with his sister in a very rural area of Georgia. They were picked up by animal control and taken to the shelter, but despite neighbors reporting who the owners were no one came to claim them

Banks is about 3 yrs old and around 80 lbs. This big ol' lab boy has really come out of his shell since being in a foster home! He loves spending these warm spring days outside playing with his friends and lounging in the sun

Just like about one out of every three dogs we save from rural areas, Banks did test positive for heartworm disease. No worries though! RMG utilizes a slow kill treatment protocol studied by an Atlanta area veterinary cardiologist. All treatment medications are provided by RMG and after successful treatment, there are typically no lasting health effects

Interested in adoption Big Boy Banks? Rescue Me Ga Inc's Adoption Policy
We have an application process that we require for any adoption. The application can be found on our website at www.rmgdogs.org - its the first step in our process and required before we set up a time for you to meet the dog you are interested in …. ALL of our dogs are completely vetted - all vaccines - spay or neuter - dewormings - chip - heart worm tested and treated if needed and ready to be loved. WE are foster based which means our dogs are in homes or temporary boarding when we rescue them -- we know their personalities and what would be their best fit! Our dogs come from a rural Georgia shelter and often we take in surrenders from families facing difficult situations….. WE do post many dogs still in need at animal control as well as all who have been saved already that are in foster homes. We do NOT operate a facility where you can visit the dogs unless you contact us to possibly meet one already in a foster
