Banks's Story

Hi there!! My name is Banks. I think that's a pretty cool name, don't you?

So, there I was wondering around a neighborhood, since I was obviously dumped. Why??? Who knows. People are just mean sometimes. I'm a really sweet dog too. There was no call for that.

Anyway, I had to get my food anyway I could. Foraging around through trash, shrubs, wherever I could find sustenance. Well that got me in a bind. More on that in a bit.

A nice lady had seen me roaming around. She even fed me a few times. She felt really sorry for me...bless her heart. She contacted Lucies and brought me to them.

The peeps there are all so nice! They were looking me over, just to make sure I was physically ok. That's when they discovered a foul smell coming form my mouth. I was obligingly letting them check me over and see what that smell could be. I laid on my back in one of the peeps laps. Others opened my mouth to discover that I had a stick lodged way in the back of mouth between my teeth. It was rotting in there. Gross!!!

After a few attempts to get it out, they gave up. It would have to be removed surgically since it was so embedded in the roof of my mouth. Off to the vet they took me, these fine peeps :)

It was removed the next day and then I got to go stay at the flea market in my very own kennel. I get to get to see LOTS of people, but I really just want my own family.

I am being crate and leash trained at the moment and am doing well. I can sit and shake as well!!

I am very sweet and loving and would just love to have someone to play with and give me love. I hope it's you!

*** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Our Mission
Local Unity for Canines In Emergency Situations. We are a dog rescue organization, not a shelter or a pound! We are a group of neighbors who, as a community effort, are helping the many strays and dumped dogs in the area. We take them in, care for them, feed - vaccinate - worm - socialize, and try to find them forever home...
