I am a newly 1 year old, long haired Chihuahua. I'm just a little guy coming in at just under 6lbs. I am neutered and up-to-date on my vaccines. My current home rescued my dad and I from a Backyard Breeder. My dad (that's where I get my good looks from) was used for obvious reasons and I was rescued as a puppy with him so thankfully I never saw the lifestyle he lived. I've lived in my current home for just under a year. I'm not 100% potty trained but I do use a belly band and won't mess in my kennel. I'm in my kennel when my humans aren't home and at night time. I have never had an issue sleeping in there. I actually really like it!<br/><br/>There are cats at my house but I keep getting told they are too old to play with. I think me chasing them and them running away seems like a good time but I guess the humans don't think so. I think I would like a house with a cat that likes to play. Or my mom says a cat that can "show me who is boss" would be acceptable. <br/><br/>I'm a cuddle bug too!!! I love my human's laps, arms, legs, bed, chair....you name it I'm down for it! I'm a true Chihuahua when it comes to being a velcro dog. Where you go I will go, if you let me. But why wouldn't you want to let me?! I'm freaking adorable!! I will nap in the sun or on a blanket. I will even sleep on top of couches and plushy chairs if you let me!<br/><br/>I'm a very shy little guy when it comes to new people. I LOOOVE "my" people but new people terrify me. They are so much BIGGER than I am! I don't know if they are going to hurt me or love me so I usually keep my distance and bark at them. I may be small but I think I'm pretty tough hehehe. My mom keeps telling me I am not a giant junkyard guard dog (whatever that is) and I need to start trusting her when she tells me it's ok...but I'm just not there yet, ya know? I'll need some work on that. My current home has only really had cats. My dad and I are their first dogs! We love the humans very much and LOVE having the run of the place! A trainer lady came to the house once and said we needed to learn some house rules and have more boundaries put in place so we would be more trusting of humans and listen better. My humans thought they could do what the Trainer Lady showed them but they just don't have the time to invest in training us to gain confidence and listen to house rules. I think I would be ok with not being the boss of the house! It IS a very exhausting job for me. <br/><br/>I love to play with toys and play with my dad. If you throw a toy for me, I will chase after it. My humans think it is so cute! I also like bedtime snacks. I'm very polite about taking them. I also heard about something called "a walk"? I heard it would allow me to go places with my human and I can walk all around and sniff new smells and see new things! It sounds scary and exciting all at the same time! I hope I get to try it! I'm very nervous about getting a new home but I know it is what is best for me. I know I'll be happier with a family that can make me feel safe from new people where I don't think everyone is there to hurt me. Are you my special person?! I hope so! I also hope you love to cuddle!<br/><br/>*Since Banjo is not very trusting of people he doesn't know, we are recommending that Banjo's new home NOT have children under the age of 14.
