Bandit's Story

🐾 Meet Bandit – A Loyal Lab Looking for His Next Chapter 🖤

Bandit is a lovable, soulful black Lab who is searching for a quiet, understanding forever home. He’s approximately 6 years old and has clearly known love before. Sadly, Bandit came to us through no fault of his own—his owner had to enter a nursing home and could no longer care for him.

In his previous home, Bandit lived successfully with another dog and a cat, and here at the shelter he’s been very curious and interested in the other dogs around him. He enjoys companionship and would likely do well with other pets given proper introductions and supervision.

Bandit truly is a great dog, but we want to be fully transparent so we can find him the right match. He does have resource guarding behaviors, meaning:

You cannot approach him while he’s eating, as this would be a bite risk

Treats must be given carefully (fingers need to be watched)

He is protective of his toys, though we are already seeing improvement with this

Because of these behaviors, Bandit cannot go to a home with children. He needs an adult-only home with someone experienced, patient, and willing to respect his boundaries while continuing to work with him.

In the right environment, Bandit has so much love to give. He’s loyal, intelligent, and deserving of a second chance at stability and comfort. If you’re someone who understands that good dogs can have challenges—and that those challenges don’t define them—Bandit might just be your perfect companion.

💙 If you’re interested in learning more about Bandit or think you could be the calm, loving home he needs, please reach out to us. Let’s help this sweet boy find the peaceful forever home he deserves.
