BAMBI's Story

Honesty is important, so I’m going to be straight with you. I’ve been adopted and returned several times and recently returned by a Foster that was thinking about adopting me. It’s imperative that the next person interested in giving me a loving home, listen to my care takers when they tell you that I have tendencies to be destructive when left alone or in a situation where I have anxiety. Please listen to them when they tell you that it will take time and patience to curb this behavior. One family had me for 5 months and just as I was getting use to having a home and a new sibling, they decided to return me. I get it, I can be a lot in the destructive department, but I soooooooooooo make up for it in the Love/Cuddle department. I like other dogs and I’m a rock star in our Dogs Playing for Life Play Groups. I even lived with a cat at this last Foster Home. Here’s the deal......I know everyone wants an easy dog that will acclimate quickly and be okay when they leave for work, but I will take a little more time, a little more patience, and a lot more commitment. I have the sweetest disposition; I am so affectionate and loving and just look at my Bambi eyes! If I’m barking at you right now, its only a kennel thing, please, please, please, ask to see me out of the cage. I could be an only dog but might be better with another that will help teach me the ropes at your place. This would also help me with any separation anxiety, when you leave. I may be available for a foster type of situation to see if we are a good fit, so please ask to see me and we’ll go from there. You should also know that I am one of the staff’s favorites, so if they say I’m worth it, I definitely am.
