Bama's Story

ABOUT BAMA
Looking for a playful, energetic lab? Meet Bama! This 5-year-old boy came to HAP from a high-intake shelter partner when they no longer had space for him. With his higher energy, Bama would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his love for adventure. Bama has spent time with children and has done beautifully, showing off his gentle nature and great manners. He's the perfect mix of playful and cuddly! While he still has plenty of energy for walks, hikes, and fun activities, he's also mellowed with age and enjoys settling down for some quality snuggle time. Bama appears to be house-trained and already knows basic commands like "sit," "paw," and "down." Bama would prefer to be the only pet in the home so he can soak up all the love and attention for himself, he's a people-loving guy through and through! If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, and well-mannered companion to join you on life's adventures, Bama is ready to be your loyal sidekick!

Bama has spent some time in a foster home, here is what they had to say about him:
"Our sweet buddy Bama does well in foster care. He seems to really enjoy being at a home with consistent companionship. He is a loyal loving lab that loves to stay by our side wherever we go. He loves going for daily walks, playing tug of war, having peanut butter on his treats, and sleeping in a cozy bed by his caretaker's side. He is not a fan of baths and needs a little coaxing to be stationary while being washed. He also does not like other dogs or cats and does not feel or behave safely when close by to them. He loves people and kids that interact gently with him. He also loves chasing bunnies and squirrels all over the yard. Bama's sweet, playful personality is so easy to love!"

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
