Baltazar's Story

Baltasar was born as the result of an unplanned litter from a neighbor’s unspayed dog. His mother, like Baltasar and his brother Melchor, had sensitive skin and similar hair loss issues. We’ve already spayed her and made sure she won’t have more puppies, and now we’re focusing on finding loving homes for her little ones.

Of the three brothers, Baltasar shares many traits: he is dominant with other dogs, weighs around 8 kg (17.5 lbs), and will remain small-sized. He has a confident personality, enjoys rough play, and does not like sharing food with other dogs. He’s affectionate and trusting with people, but definitely needs guidance and structure around other animals.

Baltasar is currently dealing with a skin issue that affects the area around his eyes, ears, and elbows. He’s already been evaluated by a veterinarian, who believes it may be either a type of allergy or fungal infection. His brother Melchor had a similar problem that cleared up quickly, but Baltasar has taken longer to heal. His skin is more sensitive than average, likely a genetic condition inherited from their mother.

He will be ready to go to a new home once his skin treatment is complete, or he can be adopted now by a family willing to continue the treatment under veterinary supervision. Despite this, Baltasar is a cheerful, sweet, and playful pup with lots of love to give.

About Baltasar:
~ Estimated age: 5 to 6 months
~ Weight: Approx. 8 kg (17.5 lbs)
~ Fully grown – won’t get any bigger
~ Likely Dachshund mix
~ Dominant with other dogs
~ Resource guarding with food
~ Sensitive skin (under treatment)
~ Bald patches around eyes, ears, and elbows
~ Affectionate with people
~ Energetic and playful

What’s Included with Adoption
When you adopt Baltasar, you’ll receive:
~ ISO identification microchip
~ Neutering
~ Adoption contract
~ Collar and leash

Adoption Fee
Baltasar’s adoption fee is $110 USD, which helps support our mission to rescue animals in need.

How to Adopt
If you’re ready to give Baltasar a loving home, contact us via:
~ WhatsApp: +52 664 764 1811 (messages only)
~ Email: forhappytails.dogrescue@gmail.com

Help Us Spread Baltasar’s Story
Share Baltasar’s story with your friends and family.
