Bailey's Story

ADOPTABLE WEIM
My name is Bailey and I am a 12 year old spayed female Weim who is on monthly flea and tick medications. You may be thinking, "she's just too old". Well, I've got a lot of life left in me and I think I'm just perfect. Sure, I've got some old lady lumps and bumps (who doesn't!). However, my first mom took very good care of me and I even had dental work completed not too long ago. They did remove several of my teeth, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying my breakfast, dinner and any delicious snacks that come my way. I am in Loveland, OH.

In my first home, I lived with 2 other dogs. At my foster home, I'm also living with 2 dogs. These dogs are on the small side and we get along just great. The other day my foster mom took me to visit a friend and she had a kitten. The kitten hissed at me and honestly, it looked interesting. It's probably best that I live in a cat-free home. I don't want to start any trouble so it's best to not put "trouble" in front of me.

My foster mom takes me to the dog park to play. I enjoy the off leash time and I usually say hello to most of the other puppy parents that are there. When I walk on a leash, my foster mom says I'm "perfect". I don't pull at all. Even the other day, there were 4 deer in our yard. My foster brother took after them like he was a great hunter but I stayed right by my foster mom. I wasn't interested in them at all.

My favorite thing in the world is riding in the car. Even if you are just running to the post office to drop off a package, I would love to go with you. There are so many adventures to have and I'm ready for them if you are.

I do not counter surf at all. There was a little bit of steak on the counter the other day and I didn't even notice it. I eat the food you give me and that's it. I hear a lot of Weims like to see what's on the counter. Maybe I did that when I was younger, but at this point in my life, I'll let you put my food in my bowl.

Snuggling is another favorite activity. When you are binge watching a Netflix documentary, I'll be content to sleep on the sofa next to you. I also like to sleep in bed with you. I stay on my side but I want to be there with you.

Probably my only challenge is that I do have separation anxiety. I will bark when you leave. For that reason, I need to be in a house and not an apartment. I don't chew things up or destroy anything. I just bark for a bit. I take some supplements in the morning to aid with the anxiety and if I need a prescription on occasion, that's not a problem either.

Overall, I'm just a sweet, older girl who would love to spend the rest of my life with someone who will give me the love that I deserve. I wish I wasn't put in a position where I need to find a new family to love me, but sometimes life throws us a curve. You will not be disappointed with all the love I have to give you and the memories that we will make. I hope you can open your heart and make a little space for me. Once I get in, I'll take your whole heart soon after.

If you are interested in fostering (long-term) or adopting me, please contact LWR at https://www.louisvilleweimrescue.com/adoption-application/
