Bailey's Story

MEET BAILEY—OUR BEAUTIFUL WATER-LOVING GIRL!

Bailey's story began when a local pastor found an underweight puppy abandoned at his church in the middle of nowhere, with no nearby homes. He couldn't leave her behind, so he brought her home, kept her safe and contacted us for help. In honor of the kind man who rescued her, Pastor Bailey, we named this precious girl Bailey. Bailey is approximately 7 months old, weighs 34.4 pounds and appears to be a Lab/Pit mix. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventions, and wonderfully clean in her crate. Bailey is one of the most beautiful, loving and playful dogs on our property—and easily one of my personal favorites! She gets along wonderfully with every dog she has met and has been amazing with my children. There isn't an unkind bone in her body. She simply wants to be close to her people and soak up all the love she was once denied. And this girl LOVES water! If there's water nearby, Bailey will find it. Turn on the hose and she comes alive—splashing, leaping and chasing the stream! Anyone who remembers our former foster Fire Keeper will understand her perfectly. They are practically personality twins!

Bailey has happy puppy energy but settles nicely and is eager to learn. She is still young and may occasionally mistake a shoe for a fancy chew toy, so she will need continued training, structure and plenty of appropriate toys. Although Bailey is affectionate and wonderful with children, we believe a home without babies or toddlers would be best. She is a joyful wiggle worm whose entire body celebrates when she gets excited, and she could accidentally knock over a tiny child. There is absolutely no aggression—just more happiness than she knows what to do with! Older children would be wonderful. Bailey was abandoned in the middle of nowhere, but she never allowed it to break her spirit. She still trusts, loves and believes people are good. Now she needs a family who will spend the rest of her life proving her right. Her $500 adoption fee covers medical care to include vaccines, spay, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. She is currently in La.
