Bailey's Story

Meet Bailey!!!

Bailey is a 1-year-old, medium-sized guy (around 40 lbs) with a playful spirit and a sweet heart that’s still gaining confidence. He came to us through no fault of his own when someone in his home developed allergies. Bailey loves interactive fun like fetch, tug, and happily squeaking his favorite toys, and treats are definitely the way to his heart. He already seems to know “sit,” and his love of snacks makes him a great candidate for continued training.

While Bailey is social and enjoys company, he can be a bit nervous in new situations and with new faces. He does best when given time to warm up and really shines once he feels comfortable—especially with dogs! When he met another dog at the shelter, he was unsure at first but soon turned playful and engaged, so he may enjoy having a dog playmate in his future home. Bailey would likely do best with older, more predictable children who can understand when he needs a little space.

Bailey is still very much a young dog and will benefit from ongoing training, including potty training and basic manners. A consistent schedule and patient guidance will help him thrive. We recommend that all family members meet Bailey before adoption to ensure it’s a good fit for everyone. With time, structure, and lots of positive reinforcement, Bailey has all the potential to become a fun, loyal, and loving companion.

He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives.
If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.
