Bagel's Story

Bagel was in the middle of the road darting in and out of traffic. A nice lady opened her car door, and Bagel jumped in. Bagel was a hunting dog. The person who found her called her owner, and he said he “had a bunch of hunting dogs, didn’t want her , and he was just going to let her out again”. He told the lady she could have her. The family wanted to keep Bagel, but their dog, a Cane Corso, did not like Bagel so they contacted us for help. The family was kind enough to bring Bagel to the vet to get vaccinated. Bagel tested heartworm positive and is now on heartworm preventative. She’ll be spayed and then available for adoption. It’s estimated that Bagel is a young adult. She’s friendly and gets along with other dogs and cats too!! She’d be a wonderful addition to any home For more information email hokieshounds@yahoo.com.
