Bagel's Story

Meet Bagel!

This girl got her name in a very unique way. When driving down a rural country road, we spotted two dogs laying in the grass. We pulled over, and after bribing them with a Lox Salmon Bagel, we were able to capture them. We named the boy Lox, and the girl Bagel!

We found out shortly after saving them that Bagel was pregnant. She had a pregnancy complication and her puppies were born via C section. One of the puppies had passed in utero which caused an infection, but the other six puppies fought hard to survive and have been thriving. Bagel has since been weaned away and has been thriving in her foster home. She is fostered with another female dog and is finally getting to learn what it's like to be a real dog and not a street dog spending everyday fighting to stay alive.

Bagel is believed to be between 1.5 to 2 years old. She is only about 35 - 40 pounds so she is an adorable medium size. Bagel THRIVES with the companionship of another dog. It is actually a requirement that she has another dog (or more) in her forever home. She is great with all dogs and is also cat friendly. She has a very easy going and friendly personality. She has slowly learned how to play with her foster sister and loves it! She is crate trained, potty trained, and is doing great on the leash. She is also learning that she loves snuggles. Bagel went from barley being able to walk on a leash to now conquering adoption events and public outings! This girl is a true test of resilience.

Bagel got spayed when she had her C section. She is now fully vaccinated and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and up to date on prevention.

Apply at:

BridgeBetweenAnimalRescue.org/adopt

We require approved applications before potential adopters can meet any of our pets, (unless we are at a public event with adoptable animals). Our adoption process is as follows: the first step is to submit an application on our website in the "adopt" tab. Then we will need to receive any veterinary records for current or previous pets. Once those are received, we reach out to references, and then set up a home visit and meet and greet for the pet the potential adopter is interested in.
