Baby Girl's Story
Baby Girl is out resident cheerful, spunky chunky monkey who is looking for a couch and backyard of her own. She has a joyful disposition and loves sharing her enthusiasm for life with people. As one volunteer put it, she is built like a linebacker runs like a receiver. She has tons of fun playing with toys in the yard, and likes romping around to show off her favorites before checking back in to soak up some affection.

Baby Girl has been a frequent flyer at the kennel over the past couple years, and she would love to find a comfy place to stay for good. She is clearly accustomed to home life and probably being treated a bit like a princess. She seems housebroken as she consistently keeps her kennel clean. With other dogs in play group, she was playfully social, though she also seems content to just soak up human attention. At almost 90 lbs, Baby Girl can be strong on leash and it does help to have a yard for her to run around. And in fact, she could definitely use a step program and a cutback on treats to help her get to a healthier weight.

Baby Girl is estimated to be around 4 years old. You must schedule a meet with a dog in advance - we are not currently accepting walk-ins. Please look online first to see if there are any dogs you think would be a good fit for your home before scheduling a meet. To get the process started, visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog and fill out the form. One of our adoption counselors will get in touch to schedule and confirm your meet! At the kennel, an adoption counselor will introduce you and your family to the adoptable dogs, share information we know about them, and discuss our suggested ways for successfully integrating a new dog into your home. You are welcome to meet multiple dogs. If the dog you adopt is already fixed, he or she may leave with you that day - otherwise, the dog can go home after receiving the spay or neuter surgery.)

About Our Dogs: All available dogs have gone through a behavioral and medical assessment. This assessment is a snapshot of who the dog is at that given time. We cannot make any guarantees with regard to behavior, temperament or health of any City Dog once they are in the home. Most of our dogs are picked up as strays, so we do not know what kind of home environment they were living in (i.e. with kids, other dogs or other cats), nor do we know if most of them are house trained. Everything we know about them is based on volunteer and staff observations. We do have some dogs in foster homes, where they will have more information about how the dog is in a home environment. It is very hard to tell with certainty whether or not a dog will be good with kids, cats or another dog. If you have kids in the home or another dog, we do require that they be present for a meet and greet with the dog you are considering for adoption.

Heath/Vaccinations: Dogs that are adopted directly from the kennel need to go to your personal vet within two weeks of leaving the kennel. All dogs receive their DAPPL, Rabies, and Bordatella vaccines, though you may be required to get follow up boosters. All dogs come microchipped and with a Cuyahoga County license.
