Baby's Story

Hi everyone! My name is Baby and I am a sweet, laid back 10-pound, 12 year-old female Chihuahua mix who wants nothing more than to cuddle and love you. I may take a little bit to warm up at first as I’m still a little cautious with strangers but I do warm up quickly, especially if you have a little treat you wanted to share with me. I am house-trained and my favorite thing is to sleep and watch tv with you. I know I would make an excellent addition to your loving home. I get along fine with small dogs in my foster home but as I am older now I don’t play as much. I was having some trouble walking because my knees were in bad shape, so I had surgery on both my knees and now I can walk and run and it feels so good not to have my knees hurt anymore. Now my foster mom and I are walking to help me strengthen my legs after surgery and bonus is I took off a few of those pounds I gained when I could not walk well.

Baby is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee of $200 helps offset the rescue's medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think she could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*:

helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/

*Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.
