Baby - ADOPTION PENDING 's Story

Jan 30/26

Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in Baby! We have now received enough adoption interest and are currently waiting for the submitted forms to be returned so we can begin the reviewing process. Selected applicants will be contacted to arrange a meet‑and‑greet.

At this time, we are no longer accepting new emails or inquiries for this dog. We truly appreciate your understanding and your support for rescue animals.

Meet Baby!
Baby is a friendly, playful, and energetic 3‑month‑old puppy who approaches life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She is a Border Collie, a breed famously known for their exceptional intelligence, eagerness to learn, athleticism, and strong bond with their people. Baby is already showing the bright, engaged personality typical of her breed. In her foster home, Baby lived with a cat and did very well, showing gentle curiosity and appropriate puppy manners. She has also been friendly with other dogs and enjoys playful, age‑appropriate interactions. At just three months old, Baby is a blank slate with enormous potential, ready to grow into a devoted and happy companion.

Training & Support
Like all young puppies, Baby will need all the foundational training that sets her up for a successful life: house training, crate training, learning boundaries, basic cues, and exposure to new people, animals, and environments. Because she is a Border Collie, Baby’s future family should expect to put in consistent time, structure, and patience. Border Collies are one of the highest‑energy, most mentally driven breeds, so they require not just physical exercise (and a lot of it!) but meaningful mental enrichment, every single day, without fail.

Ideal Home
Baby would flourish in a home that understands the needs of an active, intelligent working-breed puppy. She needs an environment where she can explore, learn, and stay engaged both mentally and physically. Baby would love a family that enjoys outdoor adventures and has time to practice mental enrichment activities with her. A family with an interest in dog sports and/or providing ongoing training opportunities would be ideal.

Baby has shown she can live comfortably with cats and other dogs. Older, respectful children who understand puppy behaviour would also be a great match for her. Baby is still learning about the world, so she will need patience as she navigates normal puppy stages like chewing, teething, and figuring out routines. With love, time, and consistent guidance, Baby will grow into a loyal, enthusiastic, incredibly rewarding companion who brings endless joy to her forever home.

Ready to Apply?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you would like to meet Baby, please download an application from our website at:

vancouver.ca/adoption-form

Then, email your complete application to: animal.shelter@vancouver.ca

If your application is approved, we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We often receive great interest in puppies like Baby, and may not be able to respond to all enquiries/applications. We thank you for understanding.
For more information on our adoption process, go to vancouver.ca/adopt

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
All adult dogs at Animal Services have veterinary health checks, and are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed (if necessary) before going to their new homes.

Children: Yes
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Yes
Training Needs: Puppy training
Adoption Fee: $391

If you live in the City of Vancouver, you will also need to purchase a dog licence.
