Baby's Story

Baby A182940
86 lb. spayed female, approx 6 years old

-This big, lively girl is packed with personality and enthusiasm! She's a strong walker on leash and can get pretty excited on her outings, so she'll likely benefit from some continued leash training and an adopter who's ready to help guide her energy in a positive way.

-Once inside, her curious side shines. She loves to sniff around and explore her surroundings before settling in for attention. When she does come over for pets, butt scratches are clearly her favorite and will earn you instant best-friend status.

-She's a smart and treat-motivated girl who already knows sit and paw--although when she offers her paw, it often comes with both feet and a burst of excitement that might turn into a happy jump! She takes treats nicely and can even catch them, which makes training sessions extra fun.

-Playtime is definitely one of her favorite things. She enjoys toys and will even bring them over to invite you to join the fun, especially if tug is involved. With her big size and enthusiastic nature, she sometimes forgets just how strong she is and may accidentally bump into you while playing.

-After she's had some time to burn off her energy, she's happy to wind down and relax--eventually stretching out for a nice belly rub.

-This energetic, affectionate girl would thrive with an active adopter who appreciates a big personality and is ready to continue helping her learn good manners while enjoying plenty of playtime together.

Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids

*Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

*Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

*Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

*There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

*To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

*The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30

**1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
