Baby is a 6 year old Rat Terrier Chihuahua mix with a fun personality and lots of love to give. This sweet little dog is just under 20 lbs., and enjoys spending time with her humans and is always ready for a small adventure. Baby is dog and cat friendly and has lived with both in the past. She has never met a stranger and greets every being with kindness & curiosity.<br/><br/>Baby is currently learning leash walking and is doing great as she gains confidence exploring the world. She would LOVE a patient family that will continue helping her learn. However, she is perfectly content to run around a fenced back yard. And her most favorite thing in the world, is if you chase her a bit! She'll run like a rocket when you do!<br/><br/>With her playful spirit and loyal heart, Baby would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a small dog with a big personality. She snuggles on the couch most of the day and likes to burrow under a blanket. <br/><br/>Baby was born with "selective hearing", and a slight head tilt, according to our vet. But that does not slow Baby down at all! She does NOT skip a beat, she will be your shadow. Baby is smart as a whip and being a bit of a terrier, she will keep you entertained. She'd love a canine companion to play with but is fine to play with toys by herself as well. <br/><br/>Baby came to us as potty pad trained but she also goes out to do potty chores with her foster siblings. She has come a long way on house training. She has learned that when the dogs do potty chores outside, that a tasty treat is awaiting her when she comes back inside. She fully understands the concept of pawsitive reward!<br/><br/>Baby loves the sunshine very much, it's like it charges her up! Conversely, Baby dislikes the rain and cold very much, this is when the Chihuahua in her comes out.<br/><br/>Baby cannot tolerate being crated. She has a crate that she sleeps in at night but the door is always left open for her to get access to her potty pad and water bowl. When she goes for car rides, she is happiest to be in a back seat. She has free reign in her fosters' house during the day while they are at work, because she is such a good girl!<br/><br/>Baby will require a home with a fenced yard. <br/><br/>Her adoption fee is has been sponsored by Virgil's Plant Shop (www.virgilsplantshop.com).
