Babsie's Story

Courtesy Post Only by Denton Humane Society for Denton Animal Shelter

Meet the beautiful Babsie. She is an 8-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who has been in the shelter since January 2, 2026. Not a great way to start the new year! She is “house broken, crate trained, leash trained and simply an “easy” addition to any home - BONUS. If you cannot adopt at this time, would you consider fostering her? She needs a home to decompress herself in and just relax and be loved. She is very social and due to her calm nature, she is also a volunteer favorite! Babsie loves car rides and is food motivated, making her super easy to train. She can be dog selective, so a meet and greet is recommended if you have other dogs at home. Her extended stay in the shelter means she’s ready for a quieter, more comfortable environment where she can relax and thrive. Babsie is in good health for her age, but the shelter environment is not ideal for her long-term well-being. Fostering her will not only give her a much-needed break from the shelter but also help us learn more about her personality in a home setting. If you’re looking for a calm, loving, and well-mannered companion, Babsie could be the perfect fit. To inquire about Babsie, you can contact the shelter at 940-349-7594 or email Jason.Hernandez@cityofdenton.com or email animal.services@cityofdenton.com. Little Rocky is waiting for you!
